It looks like a new moon on monochrome psychedelic mushrooms... if that were possible. I hope you are doing well, although you are probably overworked as the rest of us. Take care good care of yourself on this new moon!
Uuhhh!!! pero qué luna!!!!
Me gustó
The progress reminds me a discovery.
If the first image seems mysterious, the others clarify it, until the revelation which seems to be the reflection of this new moon.
Hey, Doreus, yes, as the rest or us, but, I'm afraid that we haven't the same force than you. Your energy is really amazing.
But, soon, I will start to post more posts.
Thank you very much for your visit.
PS: I liked very much your post about your spiritual experience.
MARILYN, QUEEEEEE GUSTOOOOO "escucharla", como esta usted ?
I'm glad to read you, and forgive me for not have been to read your excellent blog.
I promise that soon I will go to read you.
Best
Dear Krn,
Your new effigy is too kind and nice, you look like an angel, a kindly angel.
Thank you for your thought about this new moon, which is for me above all a punctuation, like musical or textual.
But, I must recognise that yesterday night I did not go out.
Doreus, I thank you for giving me the title of this post, even I don't sure to have understand the meaning : someone can help me to understand or correct this title ?
I feel that my english is in process of go away slowly of my head (it's normal, because of I'm submerged by the french, above all since I must to prepare some conferences).
What I meant was that the moon, because it is deformed, looks like it possibly would if one were looking at it after taking psychedelic drugs (like magic mushrooms). However, since these tend to give colourful hallucinations (apparently, I've never tried!) I had to add that it was monochrome. My tired little brain wrote that past 1 AM...
Le titre se lirait: «Nouvelle lune vue sous l'influence de champignons magiques à effet monochrome» ou quelque chose du genre.
And thank you for your kind words on my blog entry about spirituality.
And I also think KRN looks angelic in her new avatar!
By the way, your English is not going away... you're rusty. You need practice!
Doreus, et si je disais : "A new moon as monochrome psychedelic mushrooms", je suppose que ça se lirait :"Une nouvelle lune comme un champignon psychédélique monochrome", et pour le coup je me demande si ça ne sonne pas mieux. What about you ?
Psychedelic mushrooms under the moon? I see... the moon is hot, isn't it ?
What do you mean, krn ?
It seems to me, Momo and Doréus, that you get along well on the chapter "bizarre mushrooms".
In the dark of the new moon, all is possible.
Indeed, I don't know very well the artificial paradises but, among those I tried, I must say that the hallucinogenic mushrooms are the best.

Hum... I tried to put an ASCII muschroom, but it doesn't work. It's a pity !
Here are a link to hallucinogenic mushrooms
And also link in english
It is not possible to make some art ASCII in comments because blogger do not manage spaces between letters as characters.
Momo, I visited your link on hallucinogenic mushrooms.
I have difficulty imagining that a man decides to poison himself with toxic food.
I have the same opinion about the bungee jumping.
Several times a week, I have the sensation of imminent death which comes without invitation. I think that to provoke myself fear or madness is not necessary to live.
But I can understand that you think differently.
The only beneficial experiments are the ones we make ourselves.
Krn,
These experiments were made between friends. The psychedelic mushrooms is the most natural way to make this kind of experiences. The taste is like earth, and the effects are very sweet.
Generally, I'm too fragile to take drugs and a lot alcohol. For almost the same reason as you.

I did not speak about you, Momo, because I think that you are a healthy man.
I was saying that I don't understand generally why some take this kind of risk.
I take care of me, krn, you are right.
I think some persons prefer the intensity instead the longevity. It seems to me that there are a lot exemples in the sixties with the rock music.
Thank you for your technical explanation about ascii.
Krn, can I ask you which title do you prefer ?
"A new moon as monochrome psychedelic mushrooms" or ""A new moon on monochrome psychedelic mushroom" ?
It's difficult to choise, specially because I'm rusty, as Doreus did say.
Oh, the honor returns to me to choose ? Thank you very much Momo.
Well, I prefer the first solution I find it more poetic.
You know, for me, the moon evokes the white goddess, thus it is the muse.
The psychedelic mushrooms are not monochrome, it is the light of the moon that makes them grey.
We see everything in the light of the moon, but this night, it is black.
Ok, krn, I adopted the first title. Thanks for your help.
I understood very well what you said about the color mushroom during the new moon.
Thus, you are not so rusty
It come back quickly !
Let me be your teacher :
you must say "it comes back"
;-)
Without "quickly" ? Why ?
In fact, I wanted mean "ça revient rapidement".
Anyway, thanks for be my teacher, krn.
Don't hesitate to correct me, when you have enough time.
it comes back quickly, yes. I didn't write quickly because it was right.
I just added "S" to say "it comes"
I have time for you Momo, or I say that I have not, exceptionally.
You are too kind, krn.
A big hug for you !
Momo, I am your friend.
For my friends, I can walk farther than for me.
Momo, know you whom the average Chinese has only 1000 words in its vocabulary?
I am sure that it is possible to select 1000 words of current conversation with which it is possible to be understood. (But not to draft a thesis, that's sure!)
Yes, I think it's possible. If Georges Pérec have could write a novel without the letter R, I think it's possible write a thesis with only thousand words.
I'm your friend, too :-)
What is the subject of the thesis which you could write with just one thousand words?
This is an excellent question : maybe the birth of the universe, or otherwise a thesis about the dead, the life, the love and all these passions together.
By the way, I think that my blog has been written with less than thousand words, and we must not forget that at the beginning it was a thesis.
what do you mean to say ?
That we could try that job together, you and me ? with one thousand words ?
The challenge tempts me well...
Ok, but it was not such a subject.
The choice of these thousand words will be the first difficulty.
In english or in french ? or both of them ?
Krn, sorry, can you repeat in christian language ? I'm not sure to have understood. Do you want work with me ? This a good idea. How imagine you the thing ?
Anyway, this week I think resume my trip around the world, and I will need your friendly presence in front of the tests that I will confront.
Here is the start of my trip
Thousand words isn't little.
Thère is somewhere a list of the most current 600 words.
I look for them.
There are other rules to write in ludic way, do you know the Oulipo?
Yes, I do.
I can explain you in french by mail.
Contraintes oulipiennes
les 600 mots
Momo, I think that we are absolutely and definitively crazy...
Very interesting !
If I understand well, If I arrive to know these words, I could speak enough well the English ?
Crazy ? Why ?
Hum....I'm in process to drink a good Grappa.
Grappa ? How much papillae are still alive on your tongue ?
I know nobody as you.
You are the only one.
Krn, I received your mail, thank you for the explanations.
Don't worry, I trip alone, but your comments will welcome.
Maybe, are we crazy, but in the healthy sens, you dont think ?
Yes, the very healthy sens.
I like your way of mind. I feel it very closely.
I stop here for the moment, krn, i must go somewhere.
Thanks for your funny and kind visit.
See you soon.
Ok, Just one thing, Forsand is a town of Norway.
Hi Momo!
Surprised to see a new post in this very quiet site -mine has also been very silent during November- but is time to get the wassail out and celebrate another end of the year with conversation and interesting comments like you guys do here :-)
By the way, I've always been very curious about "magic mushrooms" but I have never had the courage to try them. If you can, please share the experience (in words, of course).
Warm Greetings!
Hi, Lilian, pleased to meet you.
Really, these mushrooms are a big suject of explorations.
Krn, you made me laugh, Forsand, I had forgotten this one.
Lilian, What a nice visit !!!
How are you my dear ?
The first time I took psychedelic mushroom I had a giggles during all the night.
The second time, I had a calm euphory, a pacific and friendly sensation.
Warm Greetings!
Was it the same mushrooms ?
Yes, krn, or at least the same kind of mushroom. We must not considerate only the drug, but also the feeling when we take it.
Oh! Boy! Did I ever have a lot of reading to do to catch up! You guys sure are busy!
And yes... we are crazy (I think I can include myself here...) But it's a good kind of craziness. And as a friend of mine likes to say, "it's better than being normal".
Most people master only about 600 words in Western languages... I don't know how many I used in my thesis... and to tell the truth, I'm not sure I'd like to know how many words were used in these nearly 300 pages...
For now, my friends and I are taking the bacon challenge: trying to include bacon in anything we can think of... I had fun yesterday and this morning... as will become apparent in my blog soon.

Yum! Very much yum!
The bacon Apple Pie looks like appetizing.
Welcome into the good kind of craziness, Doreus.
Momo and Doréus,
moon, greed, craziness, what else to unite us ?
Web 2.0 ?
Greed, KRN? Greed? What do you mean? (Greed is generally negatively perceived in English; it's usually associated with the desire for maximum profit to oneself). I'd say food unites us...
Yes, Momo, you are right. I did not know that word, I just looked in an on-line dictionary, usually, I don't.
You are better than me.
Krn, it seems that Doreus are right, I made translated this sentence on Google translation, and this word "Greed" mean "la cupidité" (et non pas la "gourmandise", comme vous vouliez sans doute le dire).
Tendresses
Krn, are you ok ?
You have the sixth sense, Momo.
I'm starting to believe it, really!
This night, I went out to see the milky way.
The weather is very fine and I can see a lot of stars.
It is very cold. The herb cracks under feet.
The depth of the sky is exceptional.
There is billions of stars. Some are very small but I cannot look at them really.
This handicap reminds me that I am just a "terrienne". Nevertheless, this night, I felt well among stars.
Krn,
Milky Way is the most surprising word that I discovered since I started learn English (with "snowballfight", and also "Mistake".
Does you know some others funny words in English ?
Thanks very much for share your beautifull experience with the Milky Way.
Hug
I also find it difficult to look at the infinity of the stars... My eyesight only allows me to se the brightest, even when there is no parasite light. Oh well!
It is still gorgeous and makes one feel part of a greater universe.
We are not having snowball fights here yet... there is no snow! However, the grass is dry and crisp, as you described, KRN.
I can't think of any interestingly funny words at the moment... One of my friends at the pie-eating party saturday mentioned the word "snuffleupagus"... to describe another friend's boyfriend... whom we have never met and could be, like the snuffleupagus of Sesame Street, real or imaginary...
Oh yeah... I forgot to mention that «snuffleupagus» is only the name of a Sesame Street character; it is not a genuine English word!
But it is amusing.
Yes, Momo, one of the words which amused me was "zebra-crossing".
When I learnt this word, I was shared between the deep country and Paris. In Paris it was "les clous " because there were really nails, and in the country, that did not exist.
To remember that zebra-crossing, I thought of a zebra who ran across the place of the Opera in Paris, who was the district of my grandmother. My grandmother told "to run as a zebra" to tell to run very fast.
Sorry for the late answer,
Thank you, Krn and Doreus, for your funny words.
Krn, this is incredible, because I discovered this word, zebra-crossing, juste few days ago, and I was amused too.
Can you explain me the word of Doreus : "snuffleupagus" ?
I'm not sure to have understood.
Aloysius Snuffleupagus is the name of a character of "sesame's street"
He looks like a brown wooly mammoth with a long nose and no ears.
"Big Bird" the main character, spoke of him, but no one believes what he says, even it is the truth.
Sometimes, children say very important things to their parents, but they don't believe them.
Aloysius Snuffleupagus reminds us to listen to the chidren very attentively.
Good explanation, KRN. It might be that Momo was not exposed, like I was, to Sesame Street as a child...
As for the zebra crossings, it is an expression I've never heard. I've never heard it in English... But what fascinated me as a child was hearing the expression "passages cloutés", because where I grew up (and as far as I can tell, in all of North America), there was no such thing as nails in the pavement as can be found in Europe. The first I ever saw were in England. All of the street crossings were of the "zebra" kind, with painted stripes on the road.
You might be interested in knowing that in Canada, crossing illegally (either outside of the crosswalk or when the light is red) is called «jaywalking». Montrealers are famous for jaywalking all the time!
I found a picture of Aloysius Snuffleupagus
Is that him?
Yes, here, he was yet wild...
Ahem... what does mean "jaywalking" ?
thank you, my dear Krn, for your help :-)
The jay is a black bird. Maybe " jaywalking " is for the one who walks on the black tar of the road instead of walking on zebra-crossing.
What do you think about that ?
But the "plumage bigarré" didn't evoke you the zebra-crossing also ? In my dictionnary this bird isn't only black.
I understand what you say about colorful plumage, but exactly, these "jaywalkers" are out of zebra-crossing.
The name jay refers to thirty five to forty sorts of birds.
I know only three of them. The first is rather blue, the second black with blue feathers on wings, the third is grey and blue.
I know that there is one whose head is black and white but I have never seen it.
It seems that you know very well the birds krn.
One of the first names that amusing me when I started to learn English it was "Quick" and "Roundabout".
I thought that "quick" was just a photocopy store because there is a store called "copyquick" in Geneva.
And "roundabout" evoke me a hypothetic pharaonic temple or something like that, but never a "rond-point" or "giratoire".
Do you know "Le chant des oiseaux" of Olivier Messiaen ?
He's a musician wich composed a lot music starting from the song of birds.
I did not know the origin of the word... but now, because of you guys, I had to find out!
It turns out that in the U.S. at the beginning of the century, the word "jay" was used as a synonym of "stupid". (Unfortunately, birds are often thought of as stupid; in English, they say "bird-brain" as an equivalent to the French "tête de linotte"). So it might refer back indirectly to the bird.
So a person walking when they are not supposed to do so were thought to be stupid, and the colloquialism (popular expression) "jaywalking" was coined in the US in the beginning of the 20th C. (see the Oxford Dictionary).
And I'm done teaching for this semester. Now, on to exams and marking term papers!
Thank you for your explanation, Doreus.
Ah, Doréus, I see that the erudition is better than supposition.
Here, jays are not known to be stupid but rather for their cruelty for the other races of birds. But maybe that the jays of the new continent are stupid too.
I would like see one of these birds, have you some link to propose me ?
No, Momo, I do not know very well birds. But I live in the country and I see jays, magpies, blackbirds, crows and I recognize them. (And also hedgehogs, but they fly less well and sing rather false.)
blue jay
That one is the grey jay or oak jay
Ho ! What a beautifull bird !!!! It's amazing ! Thank you, krn !!!!!! I like it very much !!
Oiseaux exotiques
Black jay
It's the one I often see. But here the belly is grey. Our Jays are all black and the blue feathers are visible only when the wings are opened.
Amazing !!!
Surprising, these men who imitate birds ! All an orchestra...
Fortunately, birds do not want to imitate people. The morning would be less pleasant in summer.
I had a blue jay on my back fence, and then playing in the trees at the back of my garden yesterday morning.
They belong to the same family of birds as the crow and the magpie. (corvidés). They are indeed among the most intelligent of birds. And they are also quite spectacular.
But their song... not so gorgeous.
Un perroquet qui parle espagnol
That's true, Doréus. For the singing, I prefer robins and tits.
I had a couple of parrots. They imitated the train and the jingles on the radio.
Otherwise, they spent their time to eat my cloths, to cut curtains into strips, to make confettis with my newspapers... It was a true nightmare.
I even thought of cooking them with peas...
RUBY THE TALKING PARROT (WITH SUBTITILES) PART 1
Somebody can explain me how put a video into my blog ?
It's difficult ?
I would like to collect some videos with parrots in process to speak english (or other languages ?).
With peas ? Why not with another kind of vegetable ? Maybe carrots ? I wonder if the Dodo was good to eat...
You made me laugh, Krn. Parrots cooked with peas...
Do you remember the guinea fowl with orange ?
It seems to me that peas (and bacon, thank you Doréus)go very well with these horrible winged creatures.
I have been a similar experience with the pigeons, I wanted kill all of them, but for eat....
Yes i remember it very well.
I just bought two thighs of guinea fowl today to cook them in this way for tomorrow.
I am certainly going to think of you when tasting them.
To put a video on your blog, I'll send you a mail, in french.
What do you think about parrots, Doreus ? Do you want eat them also ?
Pigeons, hum ! And what about turtledoves, who coo from four o'clock in the morning, perched on the threads of the telephone in front of the window of the sleeping room ?
With peas, too ?
Merci mille fois, Corrine, pour vos explications détaillées !!!!!!
"Peas" ? "Peas" is above all a word that definitely I will not forget.
Good night, Corrine !
I used to live in a place where there were a lot of pigeons... and indeed would sometimes think of using a heavy cast iron skillet (frying pan) first to knock them out and then to fry them up... But I never was that desperate.
Could be with peas, but definitely bacon...
Some people here complain about the magpies. They have not yet managed to bother me.
I look forward to seeing the videos!
Don't hesitate, Doreus, to see the videos.. Unfortunately for Krn, I think I will put in my blog some videos of parrots speaking english. The temptation is too much big...
Momo,
The parrots of videos do not disturb me, they wake up when I ask them and I can turn down the sound if I want.
... but then again, KRN, you can't cook them up with peas!
it's difficult for me imagine a parrots cooked, it's sinister !! Does you imagine a cat cooked ? No, really, I prefer stay vegetarian (malgré la pintade à l'orange délicieuse de l'autre jour).
Momo, I am not going to be devil's advocate. You are right and my only excuse is the way these parrots destroyed my house.
I do not kill either spiders, or flies, and when I garden I put delicately earthworms close. I respect the life under all its forms and in spite of these words, I always watched that these parrots are well and miss nothing.
But, the behaviour of parrots is like that in general or your parrots only ?
Yes, I know, the chineses cook cats, yes I know, but it's not a raison for cook everything. Actually, I have some sympathetically for the cannibalism, more than the carnivorous diet.
I don't know, Momo,
I had received this couple of parrots as a gift. At this moment, I had no affinity for birds and I already had a cat.
I was afraid that the cat eats the parrots, but it was the parrots who attacked the cat. She was terrorized.
I lived in a studio and I had no separate room. The night, I put them in the cage, but they had no place enough. It was just to sleep.
I have good heart, then, I left them free in the apartment all day long.
Cannibalism ? Who are you going to eat ?
I like very much how you tell your life, krn. It's beautiful, I think your talent is above all in the writing. Who I'll eat ? I don't know. Cannibalism is an interesting anthropologic phenomenon. Many primitives societies have practiced the cannibalism for to keep the force of ancester. But, to tell the truth, I prefer stay vegetarian.
You are right to be vegetarian.
I think seriously that the human beings are the worst food which we can find. They are badly fed, have lungs filled with tar and their flesh is full of toxic medicines.
Thank you Momo , these words, coming from you, are a real compliment. You write magnificently too.
Vegetables are good for our minds.
Magnificently ? And in english ? That's very kind of you, but I can't believe you.
But it's true that I'm in process of progress.
In English, it is less perceptible, but in French, my admiration is acquired to you.
You are the best.
Wow !!!!!!!
^_^
Bonne nuit, krn :-)
I see that you are still playing the clown.
Good night Momo.
Sorry, Momo... that comment about frying up the parrot was meant to be a joke. I would never think of cooking them! However, I also recognise that I most likely will never be vegetarian, although I do enjoy a lot of meals without meat.
And I will concur with KRN, you are an excellent writer. And as you practice, you even get better at English writing.
Don't worry, Doreus, I have understood, but I must recognize that the image of the peas with a parrots in the middle was impressive, the contrast between fluorescent colors of the plumage and the roasted skin impressed me a lot.
I think it's impossible judge people on they behaviour diet, I know some gorgeous persons, like you Doreus, wich are very carnivorous, and some historic monsters wich were vegetarian (useless to quote this individual).
Excellent writer ? Astonishing !!!
Krn, here is that I found regarding the savage behaviour of some gray parrots of Gabon:
"... il est impossible de le laisser vagabonder dans la maison sans surveillance. C’est un véritable destructeur qui retrouve tout son instinct sauvage en lapidant avec soin tables, chaises, chaussures …"
And for continue about the precedent subject :
"Le perroquet est affectueux avec celui ou celle qu’il a adopté. Comme tous les perroquets, il déteste la solitude et aime participer à la vie de la maison.
Bien qu’en principe frugivore, il adore en fait tester toute sorte de nourriture. Il aime particulièrement la viande rouge et le blanc d’œuf".
Hi Momo!!
I'm visiting you back :D
Un gran abrazo --
Thank you, Lilian, you are always welcome here :-)
